Summary

  • Protecting Bank Islam Group’s reputation via good corporate governance, transparency, accountability and values of integrity in compliance with the principles of shariah, laws and regulations.
  • Identifying and assessing integrity issues arising from failure to comply with Bank Islam Group’s standards and policies for Bank Islam Group’s effective management of integrity risks.
  • Adherence and compliance with all internal policies, guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  • Report to Deputy Chief Integrity & Governance Officer and Manager, Governance & Integrity Unit.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Implement the Corruption Risk Management (CRM) for Bank Islam Group in order to strengthen the corporate governance i.e. to identify, analyse and assess the internal and external corruption risks, etc.
    • Conduct the CRM review for Bank Islam Group in order to:
    • validate the current controls and its effectiveness as identified by the stakeholders in their risk registers;
    • assess for any gaps in the control to mitigate the identified corruption risk; and
    • ensure the risk action plans identified are implemented or progressive towards implementation.
  2. Facilitate the establishment and implementation of Organisation Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) and Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS).
  3. Draft new policies and guidelines in relation to Bank’s good governance.
  4. Review the existing policies, guidelines and internal system periodically (once every two years) or when there are material changes to its governing structure, processes or procedures.
  5. Plan and conduct annual Governance & Integrity programmes consisting of enhancement on initiatives and measures including Integrity Day, integrity-based talk by external parties, internal communique and integrity messages.
  6. Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts with various stakeholders i.e. internal and external.
  7. Conduct training programmes related to integrity and governance for Bank Islam Group.
  8. Provide advisory on integrity and governance matters i.e. Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) clause in the agreement, gift declaration, deviation or waiver of integrity requirements and etc.
  9. Perform independent review function for new frameworks/ policies/ guidelines to be aligned with integrity policies.
  10. Undertake any other duties/assignment as and when directed/assigned by the superior as per the business requirements from time to time.

 

Specific Skills/Knowledge and Certification Required

  • Good understanding of financial/banking institutions of Malaysia financial market especially in Islamic Banking.
  • English proficiency.
  • Good and effective communication – able to communicate well and express in a clear manner, whether in writing or speaking.
  • Self motivated, self criticism, willing to receive feedback and to learn new things.
  • Polite, well disciplines, punctual and reserved.
  • Strong work and well exposure in ethics & integrity area.
