Deputy Manager, Credit Analysis - Credit Management

Summary

Act as an independent credit chain entity within the Credit Management function of Bank Islam to deal with the credit evaluation of Business Units and Treasury customers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1) Evaluate/ appraise Credit Applications from Business Units (especially larger size cases) including Treasury Division in respect of:-

  • New and additional financing.
  • Review and/or renewal of existing facility.
  • Variation and request from customer/applicant.

2) Prepare the credit assessment memo to communicate the independent but balance credit opinions (arising from the evaluation process above).

3) Verifying financial spreading and credit grading.

4) Deliver methodical credit and financial analysis.

5) Enhance potential credit solutions & structuring for Business Units.

6) Ensure credit proposals are in adherence to all external regulatory and internal credit policies and guidelines

7) Provide market and industry-related “intelligence” via Industry Analysis and Reviews, when and as required.

8) Assist in providing information relevant to the development of Target Market (TM) and Risk Acceptance Criteria (RAC).

9) Assist in the management of the overall bank’s portfolio via day to day activities or ad-hoc activities such as providing inputs on guidelines related to the job scope of CMD.

10) Any other duties/assignments as and when directed/assigned by superior as per business requirements from time to time.

 

Requirements

• Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Economics, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.

 

Years of Experience

• A minimum of 4 years of Banking and/or Credit experience.

 

Specific Skills/Knowledge and Certification Required

• Strong credit research and analytical skills as well as proficiency in financial spreadsheet analysis.

• Good understanding and knowledge of external regulations and commercial laws.

• Possess the initiative and is detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to meet deadlines.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
