Financing Operations Lead

Job Description: 

Primary Functions:

 

  1. Managing day-to-day operations of Be U’s financing products and overseeing a team of financing experts.
  2. Prepare regulatory financial reports to the regulatory bodies e.g. BNM, PIDM, etc.
  3. Prepare internal management reports for CDX reporting.
  4. Review all applications and perform monthly audit on origination, disbursement, and post disbursement processes.
  5. Perform analysis on team performance both retrospectively and prospectively.
  6. Provide business support in terms of financing product knowledge during product development.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Review financing reports to determine trends in borrower behavior to identify mitigative actions and those that require close monitoring.
  2. Managing relationships with external departments on day-to-day matters i.e: document stamping, compliance, recovery & collection.
  3. Develop and maintain financing Standard Operating Procedures, policies and guidelines and ensure proper implementation of internal controls.
  4. Ensure compliance with applicable shariah-based Financing standards, Bank policies and related statutory / tax requirements.
  5. Coordinate and manage all exception handling cases with the team efficiently and according to set KPI/SLAs.
  6. Team management – performance reviews/feedbacks and ensuring team skill sets evolve appropriately as the operation expands.
  7. Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors and regulatory bodies on matters relating to Financing system as well as keeping abreast on the latest developments in shariah-based financing in the market.

Ad-hoc activities and others

 

  1. Assist in various ad-hoc projects e.g. data analysis, system requirements, testing and automation initiatives.
  2. Any other duties/ assignment as and when directed by superior as per business requirement from time to time

Qualification

  1. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Business Administration

Years of Experience

  1. Minimum 3 years experience in a sizable organization operating in the banking industry

Specific Skills / Knowledge and Certification Required

  1. Hands on experience in handling financing and origination systems.
  2. Demonstrates good written and communication skills with business acumen and positive attitude. 
  3. Pro-active team leader, able to manage a lean team on multiple tasks efficiently.
  1. Extensive knowledge in LHDN, BNM guidelines, Bursa requirements and Companies Act in Malaysia.

 

  1. Strong financial literacy, attention to details and
  2. Commercial acumen, an enquiring mind and able to co-relate the market and financial dynamics would be a distinct advantage.
  3. Have experience of dealing and working with senior business heads and managers.  Thorough knowledge and experience with a confident disposition.
  4. Able to work with initiative and under pressure, to deliver high quality work under tight deadlines.
