IT Business Relationship Manager
Summary
The IT Business Relationship Manager is a strategic business partner who collaboratively shapes organisational strategy, ensuring alignment of IT initiatives with business objectives, validating expected results, and strategising with IT & business stakeholders to develop future roadmaps. They actively converge organisation-wide strategic direction into cohesive objectives, driving value by exploring new opportunities and fostering cross-functional collaboration. This role plays a vital part in enhancing overall business performance by optimising the use of technology to achieve the Bank’s strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders from both Business and IT to develop innovative solution using knowledge and awareness of industry trends and ensure meaningful results from strategic initiatives
- Perform business analysis and collaborate with business leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and technological requirements.
- Ensure conflicting stakeholder requirements are mediated appropriately, handling stakeholders’ complaints and escalations well
- Obtain critical updates from Project Managers and provide updates during specific management forums where required.
- Assist Business and IT stakeholders in demand management, facilitate the demand submission process and provide consultancy services to business case development.
- Assist project stakeholders in preparation of management papers for project approval, including guidance to identify relevant resources, technical requirement and development of project plan
- Ensure project stakeholders are knowledgeable about objectives; engage as a project partner including evaluating development efforts and progress against strategic plans and value creation objectives
- Proactively sense and anticipate changes affecting strategy in the environmental landscape including organisational improvements, technological advancement and evolving organisation needs.
Specific Skills/Knowledge and Certification Required
- Strong understanding of the banking operations (e.g. Branch Operations, Retail Banking, Corporate Banking etc.) is a plus
- Proven experience in championing organisational change, e.g., leading initiatives, products, services, or interactions
- Strong business analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills, in addition to technical skills
- Good functional knowledge of Target Operating Model for banks
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and business improvement
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
- Master of relationship building and team collaboration
