Job Description: 
  1. Summary
  1. Responsible for developing new and reviewing the existing risk management methods to ensure is up to date with changes, namely Basel and BNM.
  2. Responsible for providing technical support to other Units within RMD in reviewing the existing risk analysis approach and reporting including for the Group and Subsidiary.
  3. Responsible for conducting risk assessment for product variation, new product and new program.
  4. Responsible for conducting assessment on the product roll out readiness.
  5. To assist the Head, Risk Analytics for matters relating to the Department and matters relating to BNM or other regulatory requests.

 

  1. Duties and Responsibilities
  1. To assist in the planning, managing, and overseeing the overall day-to-day management of the Department towards increasing operational efficiency, process improvement and risk mitigation.
  2. To provide technical support in reviewing and developing new guidelines, policies, and methodologies.
  3. To provide technical support in the implementation of new regulatory requirement (i.e., BNM and Basel)
  4. To provide technical support in the implementation of risk systems i.e., Quantum.
  5. To provide technical support in reviewing and validating risk models, methodologies, and process flows (mainly for Traded Market Risk).
  6. To review and validate other risk models for theoretical soundness testing design and identification of model weaknesses, ensuring ongoing monitoring as well as to contribute to the Bank wide model risk and control assessment (if any).
  7. To provide the assessment of new products, new programs, product variation and product roll-out to be in line with the Bank’s Product Development Guideline.
  8. To prepare, analyze or review reports to ALCO, MRCC and BRC (if any), within the stipulated time frame & error free.
  9. To perform any other duties/assignment as and when directed/assigned by the Supervisor from time to time, or as per business requirement from time to time.
  10. Ensure adherence to and compliance to all internal policies/guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  11. To provide support in BIMB Invest and BIMB Securities review and advisory for Financial/investment risk areas.
  12. To provide support on the Group and subsidiaries review and advisory for risk areas.

 

 

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance) discipline from a reputable & recognized university.

 

Years of Experience

  • More than 10 years’ experience in banking or other relevant industry with minimum 5 years in managerial function.

 

Specific Skills/Knowledge and Certification Required

  • Advance in MS Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Effective communication / interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated & self-starter with positive attitude & able to work under pressure.
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently with minimum supervision.
  • Resourceful & adaptable in a changing environment, proactive in resolving issues.
  • Ability to multi-task, highly numerate with great attention to details
  • Strong managerial skill as well as good team player
