Job Description:
Summary
- Responsible for managing and overseeing the overall day-to-day operations of the Reporting and Analysis Team.
- Responsible in reviewing the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) reporting (including Climate, Shariah and BCM related matters) and keep Risk Management Committees/ Board abreast highlighted and escalated on non-financial risk related matters/ issues. Ensure regular and timely reporting on the outcome of non-financial risk management activities undertaken.
- Responsible for periodic NFR Reporting to Operational Risk Control Committee (ORCC), Management Risk Control Committee (MRCC) and Board Risk Committee (BRC), and analysis related to NFR tools to risk management committees/ Board as and when required.
- Responsible for climate-related NFR reporting and ensure integration of climate-related NFR into BAU NFR disciplines.
- To plan and review the non-financial risk analysis of the bank-wide and reported on a periodic basis.
- Responsible for the Capital Adequacy Framework (CAFIB) and Internal Capital Assessment (ICAAP) of non-financial risks.
- Back-up BNM-ORR Submission Approver to ensure that LED/KRI under BNM’s Operational Risk Reporting are being reported accurately within the stipulated timeline.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To strengthen and continuously evolve the Group’s ORM Framework and capabilities to be in accordance with best/ market practices.
- To ensure the implementation of Group NFR related policies/ guidelines/ manuals/ user guide as well as to facilitate/ assist BU/ SU in implementing the guidelines.
- To ensure the integrity of NFR reporting to management i.e., ORCC, MRCC, BRC, BOD etc.
- Facilitate and support the Chair of ORCC and CoSec to ensure smooth running of ORCC meetings.
- To plan, lead and provide intelligent NFR analysis including trend, thematics and root cause analysis on a timely basis to enable Senior Management and the Board for decision making.
- Ensure integrity and timely Climate-related physical risk assessment of BIMB’s internal operations as a whole, Climate-related NFR reporting and stays up-to-date with Climate-physical risk assessment methodologies and tools.
- To review and ensure adequate assessment and timely completion of pillar 2 capital assessment for NFR for ICAAP purposes, operational risk stress testing and annual review of NFR within ICAAP Policy Document.To review, monitor and track the status of NFR-related Risk Appetite Statements (Financial & Non-Financial) and to support the adequacy of RAS for NFR and observe the regulatory requirements with regard to capital allocation for NFR.
- Keep abreast and conduct research and analysis of evolving practices on NFR (including climate related NFR) management, continuously learn and master the techniques, methodologies, and processes of all the NFR (including climate related NFR) tools, especially relating them to NFR policies and industry best practices.
- To ensure the Bank and its subsidiaries comply with internal/ regulatory requirements with respect to NFR practices by facilitating, assisting, and playing a consultative role to Business Unit/ Support Unit in the implementation of NFR processes and tools in line with the Group’s NFR Policy and Guidelines.
- To ensure significant NFR risks are adequately and effectively controlled and monitored via NFR’s tools so that the NFR exposure is reduced to acceptable levels by way of implementing the established internal controls, introducing new mitigation controls and/or taking actions to correct deficiencies in the processes, procedures, and systems.
- To promote risk-aware culture bank-wide and inculcate a culture that “Managing Risk is everyone’s Business”.
- Appointed as the back-up BNM-ORR Submission Approver which covers tools such as LED/KRI.
- Ensure adherence and compliance with all internal policies/guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
- Act as secretariate and support leading the NFR Taskforce matters.
- Drive and manage cross-functional internal stakeholders in order to ensure the successful delivery of G&T deliverables and achievement of NFR Department’s objectives.
- Build capacity on climate-related NFR management and act as Climate Centre of Excellence.
- Any other duties/assignment as and when directed/assigned by the superior as per business requirement from time to time.
Qualification
- Degree in any related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in banking operations (Branches and Head Office), Compliance, Audit and Risk Management is an added advantage.
Years of Experience
- More than 10 years in Risk Management or audit or banking industry.
